La Vie De La Beaute: Makeup

HAUL | Mini MAC Haul

Hey there! Okay so as you can maybe tell I haven’t treated myself in a while. If you’re wondering how the hell you’re supposed to know that... Well, the answer to that is simple! I would have made a blog post on my new purchases or posted some pictures on Instagram (Which I did of course) But Anyhoo I’m excited to share some specific goodies with you on my blog today and they are a few MAC purchases!! Sometimes you gotta’ treat yourself to a few goodies y’know.

So here is what I purchased.

I can't upload a picture of the lip liner because my phone has currently gone for repairing and the pictures are on there so I will edit this post once I get it back. However, you can see the lip liner in the background of the picture :)

So I purchased 2 new lipsticks and a lip liner. The two shades I purchased were ‘Taupe’ and ‘Amorous’.

Amorous

Taupe

Mac Taupe is a Matte Finish Lipstick which is described as a ‘muted reddish-taupe brown’ & after trying this a few times I do agree with their description of it. The second lipstick which is the shade Amorous is definitely more me. It is a Satin finish lipstick which has been described as a ‘Love struck Cranberry’. I’ve actually been wearing this pretty much every day & I absolutely love it. The texture and formula of this is great and I’ve fallen in love with this shade.

I also picked up a lip liner which is in the shade ‘Spice’. You may be aware that spice is a very popular shade among the Mac lip liners. I have seen so many people wear this shade on Instagram and it just looks beautiful.

This shade has been described as ‘Pink Cinnamon Stick’. This colour actually goes hand in hand with Taupe very well. They are literally such a perfect match! However, it would totally match loads of other colours too. The amazing thing about lip pencils is that they can be pulled off on its own too and sometimes they actually tend to last longer than a lipstick would, so investing in a lip pencil is definitely a good move to make.

I have swatched the shades for you so you can see how they look on the skin but if you want to see how they look on the lips then do let me know.

So those are my cheeky MAC purchases. Have you made any purchases lately? If so do let me know what you have treated your self too!

Speak to you all very soon. Lotsa' Love

Burt & Bees Lip Shimmer Review

Burt's Bees

So a couple of years back, I discovered this brand called Burt’s Bees through my sister because she purchased some of their products & I kind of gave them a cheeky try. From what I could remember their products were really good & worked very well.

If you haven't heard of the company Burt's Bees then they are a company which makes tons of amazing products to suit everyone from men to mums and even babies! The best thing is that these products are made using as many natural ingredients as possible, so unlike other brands, Burt's Bees makes sure that they use the least amount of chemicals and all the other stuff that is usually found in general products. After all natural is best! They also have products for hair care, lips, body, hand and feet and much more. Burt's Bees believe in 'making the most of what nature has already given us & what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it.' - I totally agree with this statement!

Burt’s Bees were kind enough to send me 2 of their Lip shimmers to try out. The 2 shades they sent were Fig and Watermelon. When they arrived in the post I was super excited to try them. After sampling and using them for a while I can confidently give you my opinion on these 2 lip shimmers.

Okay so don't be too alarmed when I say 'Lip Shimmers' because if you're like me and don't like shimmery lip products, then no need to worry, I can assure you that these lip products have the slightest hint of shimmer. You really don't even notice it!

Starting with the packaging of this product. As you can see, it is a very simple design with a coloured cap on in order to indicate the different shades. The size is perfect just to throw in to your handbag or even your back pocket. So whether you carry a bag or not it's just convenient for all.

These lip shimmers not only gave me a pretty good amount of colour on my lips but they also really moisturised and nourished my lips, thanks to the use of a bunch of natural ingredients such as Shea Butter, Vitamin E & Beeswax. A couple of seconds after applying this product, it left this tingly sensation on my lips. This was from the hint of peppermint flavour in the product.

The fact that these products are made from natural ingredients but they still manage to leave a good amount of colour was really impressive. The colour pay off is amazing and can totally be pulled of as a lipstick. This may not apply to all the shades but may do for some, in particular the fig one definitely showed up more on my skin colour compared to the watermelon one.

Watermelon - Right
Fig - Left

The watermelon shade appeared very sheer on my lips and didn't show as much colour. I felt like this shade was more on the lighter side for me so if you have a more lighter skin tone then me, you might like the watermelon shade. However, I found that I preferred the fig one better because even after applying just one coat you could see the colour on the lips .

Below is a close up shot so you can see the shade of the products when swatched.

Overall, I think these lip shimmers are a great mix between a lipstick and a lip balm. As I haven't tried all the colours I don't know which colours give the most pay off but the two that I have talked about in this post are lovely colours. One that I have heard many people talk about is the shade Rhubarb which is an absolutely gorgeous shade.

If you’re looking for something that you can quickly apply on your lips every day, making sure that your lips are left moisturised with a hint of colour then my friend, look no further!

I would definitely recommend checking out these lip shimmers along with other items from this brand. I am so impressed with these products and will probably continue using this product and go on to trying more of their other products too :)

If you do try or have tried any of their other products let me know what your thoughts were on them!

Burt's Bees products can be purchased in some stores for which I will leave their links to below.

Feel Unique

Holland & Barrett

Please note that these products were kindly sent to me & all opinions are honest and of my own.

November Favourites

What comes in to your mind when I say December? Winter, Cold nights, Cosy knits, Lights, Christmas, Gifts… I'm not going to lie I love December because it's the chance to grab a lot of stuff at awesome prices especially from the Christmas sales!

I can't believe that the year has almost come to an end! Time just seems to be ticking by so quickly, before you know it December will be finished and it will be a new year! Before I start going off on one of my rambles today's post is actually my November favourites! I haven't done a favourites post in a while because sometimes I feel as though I don't have 'favourites' every month but this month I found myself loving and using quite a few products. Keep reading to find out my November faves ☺

1) Dior Skin Star Foundation

Dior Skin Star Foundation

I've been picking up this foundation quite a lot lately and I must say you definitely get what you pay for. The packaging is gorgeous and very sleek yet simple. The foundation its self is a very good match because I did ask for them to test against my skin to find my colour. Looking at it from the bottle I thought the colour was going to be dark for me but when it was applied it actually blended in very well with my skin. It leaves a lovely natural finish on the skin - kind of like a second skin but WAYY better because it takes away those imperfections on your face and leaves your face with a gorgeous complexion.

2) LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer - Creamy Beige

LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer

I've been using this concealer religiously everyday as part of my routine and I've fallen in love with it. I think it just provides a great amount of coverage and for the price it’s definitely one to try out.

It's been compared to the MAC prolong wear concealer and it's supposed to be a dupe. I don't own the MAC concealer but this is definitely a cheaper option if you’re looking to try the MAC concealer and can't afford it or just don't want to spend a lot of money on a concealer!

3) Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser - Nude

Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eye Eraser

Eye Eraser - Nude

Now this product had been talked about tons in the Beauty world so when I did finally get around to getting one (which by the way was very late) I did find myself using it quite a bit. I think it definitely works great for reducing dark circles under the eyes because I have very bad dark circles and they do cover up pretty well! It can also work great as a highlighter. This product only comes in 2 shades in the UK which is the downside because you’re very limited on options. I brought both the light and the nude shade but I use the nude one a lot more as it blends in with my skin better.

4) Dove Derma Spa Hand Cream

I actually mentioned this in my haul post from last week if any of you remember. This cream is a little tube of magic. It is so moisturising to my somewhat dry hands and just gives them so much more life! I love how this cream doesn’t leave that greasy feeling on the hands and just sinks in to the skin very easily. I have fallen in love with this hand cream and have been reaching out to use this cream everyday just because I love it that much!

5) Makeup Revolution lipstick

I have honestly been loving this brand since I first came across it in Superdrug. All there products are so affordable and work amazing. In the month of November I probably used this lipstick the most! I love the colour and its wearing time is pretty good. Oh & it was only £1 which is a total bonus! Makeup Revolution is a brand that is so worth checking out. I promise you won't regret it!

6) Technic Cheek Tint

Cheek Tint

How the colour look when applied <3

I brought this a while back and used it loads but then I kind of forgot about it when I discovered some new makeup but I stumbled across it again recently and I'm loving it just because it's a liquid blush and it helps you to achieve that natural finish because sometimes with powder blushes you end up applying more on one side which is a pain! This however is a lot easier when it comes to adding a hint of colour on your cheeks but not too much! I use the brush to apply the colour and then go ahead and blend it out with my fingers or a brush.

It’s a much cheaper version of benefits ‘Benetint’. I think I need to purchase the Benetint soon but I just can’t bring myself to buy it!

That's all my faves for the month of November! Thank you for stopping by to read this post. I hope you enjoyed it reading about my November favourites. I would love to know what some of your faves were so feel free to leave a comment below =)

Until next time

Lotsa’ love

Beauty/Makeup Haul <3

I feel as though I haven't done some makeup shopping in ages, so the other day after college I popped in to town and obviously ended up getting a few goodies to treat myself. There was loads of things that I liked but didn't want to end up splurging too much money. I did pick up a few products and probably will go back soon to buy more things especially as there are lots of sales and stuff happening right now: D however, here are some products I brought and can't wait to try ☺

Soap & Glory Body Scrub - Sugar Crush

I forgot to take a separate picture for the scrub but hope you can see it slightly in the picture. I needed a good scrub to get rid of dead skin cells and exfoliate my skin and my sister was telling me about this one so I thought why not give it a try. It has a mixture of different stuff but I can mainly smell the lovely lime scent which I actually really like <3

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Brush

The very well-known sponge that's been talked about loads! I'm sure many of you have already tried this or own this! It's a similar dupe to the beauty blender. This comes in a pack of 2 which was £10.00.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponges

Dove Derma Spa Indulgent Hand Treatment

This is a new range from Dove. I had to pick it up when I saw it. I've already started using this cream & I must say it's amazing. It leaves my hands SOO smooth and it smells lovely too! Perfect size to throw in your handbag ;)

Dove Derma Spa Hand Cream

MUA Matte Perfect Loose Powder

I don't really own any form of loose powder so when I was looking at the MUA stand I came across this powder so I thought I'd give it a try! It was only £2.50!

MUA Matte Perfect Powder

MUA Skin Define Hydro Powder

I've seen quite a few people using this product and have said they liked this so as it was available in Superdrug I decided to pick one up :)

MUA Skin Define Hydro Powder

Baby Lips Winter Delight Sweet Apple

If you didn't already know I love using baby lips for a hint of colour. My fave is the cherry one: D I saw this new one which I thought I'd try and it’s a special winter addition one with a super cute design on it.

Baby Lips Sweet Apple

Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Contour

I actually recently won this from a competition which is quite a surprise because when it comes to competitions I never usually get much luck but glad I did this time! I generally love makeup revolution products and own a handful of their stuff myself! I can't wait to try out this cream contour though☺ although I still need to work out how to contour properly! Don't worry I'll be watching a ton of YouTube videos to help me with that ;)

Revolution Cream Contour

Beautiful Shades

That's about all the beauty products I have to share with you today! If you have tried some of these then let me know what your thoughts on them are! ❤

Until next time,

Lotsa’ Love

Fatima 😘

Essence Lip Products - Swatches & Review

Recently, I've found myself loving essence products loads! I mean I loved them from the start anyway but I've just been reaching out to them a lot lately & every time I go to Wilko's I have to browse and look at their stand just to see if I want to purchase anything and most of the time the answer to that is YES!

I have a mini collection of essence products so today I thought I would share with you these products and show you some swatches so you guys can see how amazing this brand is. Most of which are lip liners or should I just say all of them are lip products!

So I don't own many lip liners and really wanted some & when I came across these I picked up a bunch of colours! There only £1 and the colour payoff of these are incredible! Seriously if you’re a lipstick junkie or love makeup you can't miss this one! Here are the lip liners that I own. I will also do swatches of them so you can see the different shades.

Essence Lipliners

Swatches Of Different Shades

The next product which I recently purchased from there is the ‘XXXL Nude Lip Gloss’. The name pretty much sums it up. It’s a nude coloured gloss. It’s a great colour for everyday wear and if you’re someone who likes to go nude and natural on your lips then I think you might just have to give this one a try. I also purchased the ‘XXXL Shine Lip Gloss’ & boy is it glossy! Like seriously glossy but in a good Way: D I don’t really wear lip glosses much but I really liked this shade so I thought I’d give it a try. I brought mine in the shade 'Fabulous Fuchsia' because I wanted to have a pop of colour. The gloss it self does last for a good amount of time and what I love about this is it automatically adds an amazing amount of colour on your lips without having to apply a lipstick or another product before applying the gloss on top. It’s been my recent fave and I’ve just been picking this up lately instead of a lipstick. If you’re not a glossy person then you can just dab the gloss of so it appears less shiny or you could purchase the nude glosses. For £1.80-£2.00 I'm more then impressed with these and will definitely have to invest in more colours!

Right - Nude Gloss
Left - XXXL Shine Gloss

The last few products are the Essence Lipsticks. Now these lipsticks are my sisters but I thought I would add them in so you guys can see the shades and how they look. However, I can tell you the packaging is pretty good and I have tried them on my lips a few times & they were great on the lips too!

Lipsticks <3

Lipstick Swatches. I kind of lost the last lipstick so couldn't swatch it

I cannot think of anything but good things to say so far about my experience with essence products! If you’re looking for some new makeup but want to stay on a budget or just likes trying different makeup brands and all that stuff then I seriously recommend you try out this brand. I promise it's worth it! These products are insanely good and for the price it does work wonders! This brand is only available in Wilkinson’s so if you've got one near you defo go check the essence stand out! I hope this post was of some sort of use & hope you enjoyed.

Top 10 Handbag Essentials!

Hello there lovelies! How are you all doing? I didn't post last Sunday but I'm back this weeek: D

So if you’re like me and carry a bag whenever you go out then this post might just be for you! We all have those items which we can’t leave the house without! If you know me then you will know that I literally carry everything in my bag LOL but I've reduced it down to 10 things which I feel is essential for my bag.

It also depends on what kind of bag I’m carrying so whether it's a big one or a much smaller one! The smaller it is then the less likely I will be able to take all the items! However most or nearly all the time my bag is big enough to fit the things am going to mention.

1) Mobile Phone
I always have to carry my phone! It’s my number one essential because it has a million and one benefits & always comes in handy, whether it’s to make a phone call to your friends or family members, send a text message or maybe if you get lost or need to get some where then the good old Google maps is always handy! I also like to use this app called 'Waze' which is a free app to download and I find it easier but both work great.

2) Portable Charger

We all have probably had those times when our battery goes on red we start to slightly worry and before you know it, it’s already gone down to like 7% and you have that mini heart attack because you know you need to make sure it lasts until you get home! To avoid that happening investing in a portable charger is just the thing! They are literally a life saver and they don’t cost much!! You can get them of Ebay or Amazon for quite cheap! =)

3) Chewing Gum/Mints

Okay so I will always carry a packet of chewing gum or mints with me. Why? Well because you want to make sure that your mouth stays fresh throughout the day or maybe if you go out to eat with some friends you don’t want your breath to smell of food later! So always keep some gum on you to maintain that fresh breath!

4) Purse

Well if you’re carrying a bag then I think it’s pretty important to make sure your carrying your purse! It’s always good to have some extra money on you. You never know you might just spot something you love and want to buy! I think it’s important to always keep your purse or some money on you. Money will always come in handy sooner or later!!

5) Makeup Bag

I like to count my makeup bag as a handbag essential. If am not carrying my whole makeup bag then I am probably carrying the main bits of makeup which I think is essential. If you’re wondering what exactly I carry in my makeup bag it’s pretty much just few basic bits of makeup that I may need to use to touch up throughout the day. The things that I normally carry are:-

- Concealer

- Compact Powder

- Powder Brush

- Top Liner

- Mascara

(I carry this around in my makeup bag but don’t use it much as I don't wear mascara everyday)

- Some sort of lip balm- Vaseline/ Carmex

- & finally of course LIPSTICK <3

My 2 regular faves are the Rimmel Kate Moss in 107 and also baby lips. That's not really a lipstick but it’s just great to put on when I don’t want to wear lipstick but I want my lips to be moisturised with a hint of colour!

6) Blotting Sheets

This could be part of things I carry in my makeup bag but I usually like to keep this in the side pocket of my bag! I never used to carry them but since I started using them they have been sooo helpful. If you’re one of them people that get really hot easily and can feel your face getting a bit sweaty in a certain area then using a blotting sheet will help to take of any access or dirt on your face without ruining your makeup!

7) Tissues

Tissues are an essential for me! I know I will probably always need a tissue sometime during the day! Maybe if you have a runny nose or just for any other purpose! They come in handy when you least expect it!

8) Earphones

Carrying a pair of earphones is always useful! I like to plug in my earphones if I’m alone and going somewhere! Maybe when I’m on the bus or on my way to college! It just keeps me a bit of company! But if your one of them people that likes to plug in your earphones all the time when you’re out make sure to be aware of your surroundings as well! I normally just plug one earphone in! This way my attention or focus is not just on what I am listening to.

9) Perfume/Spray

I HAVE to carry some sort of perfume or spray with me in my bag! It always ends up coming in use and I like to spray some on at least once throughout the day as the perfumes I wear are pretty light scented!

10) Hand Cream

I have found that my hands seem to get super dry and rough very quickly especially in the cold winter days. I like to make sure that I always keep some cream in my bag so I can easily re apply when needed throughout the day.

So there you have it! Those are pretty much all the things I feel are important for me to carry in my bag! Hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know what your handbag essentials are in the comments below! Anyways hope to speak to you guys soon!

Much Love

BB Cream

Top 5 Products That I've Been Lovin'

Recently, I have found my self using certain products more then others! Today I thought I would share my top 5 beauty/skincare products that I have been loving and reaching out for loads lately!

The first product that we will begin with is a makeup related item! It's the 'L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation'. L'Oreal class this product as a foundation which is as 'A feather light foundation, feels as light and fresh as water! Although L'Oreal call this a foundation... I'd say it's more of like a very lightweight bb cream. However I do agree with the second half as it is literally like water and so light on the skin! I really like this product because it's like the right coverage for me and it's not heavy at all so for me it's perfect for everyday! I love the packaging and the bottle as it's so unique and its quiet small so it's easy to carry around if your one of those who likes to touch up with your foundation/BB cream! The only downside would be that there is no pump so you have to pour the product out on to your finger which can sometimes be a bit messy! Never the less still loving the product!

L'Oreal Eau De Teint Foundation

Moving on to the second makeup fave.. It's the 'Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner' in 'Black Shock'. I've used the Maybelline Gel Liners in the pot for over 2 years or so and I love it because it really does have lasting power and stays on literally the whole day! But I do struggle with using pot liners and prefer pens! They are so much easier! So when I saw this gel liner in a pen format I had to get it! I love how the nib is at an angle which helps you to apply the top liner and also how the gel liner comes out really easily by just twisting it from the bottom.

Maybelline Gel Liner Tip

Easy to use with just 1 click twist for gel to come out.

The next 2 products are both to do with skincare! They are from the same brand called 'Clearly Youthful' which is a brand that Superdrug came out with. I talked about them in my last post! I think they have had this brand out for a while now but I only just noticed their stuff recently!!

My new skincare faves <3

The first product that I have got from the range is the 'Triple Action Cleanser, Mask & Scrub'. I love how this is a 3 in 1 item! It’s gentle on the skin and makes my skin feel sooo nice and smooth after! Best of all you can pick what you want to use it as .. Either just a cleanser or even a scrub or mask!! So you can't really go wrong on that! It really does work great as any of them and I've been loving it since I purchased it!

The next item is linked with the same brand and it is the night serum!

Okay so I wasn't really expecting much from this product but boy was I wrong!! I have been applying this every night and it has helped to even out my skin tone and also help to reduce blemishes on my face! In the morning my face just feels so smooth & I've noticed the difference!

Clearly Youthful Night Serum

Pipette style so you can easily squeeze our 2-3 drops of the product

Superdrug are against animal testing and as this is a Superdrug brand all these products are cruelty free! If you’re looking for a new skin care brand to try I really would suggest you give this a go!!

The last and final product is 'The Body Shop- Body Butter' in the flavour Passion fruit! Okay so everything about this product is amazingx2! From the design/packaging, of course the actual cream & oh don't even get me started on the scent! <3 Ahhhhhh I just can't get over the passion fruit smell! <3 <3 I could just eat it!!

The body butter makes my skin so nice and soft after using it! It's great as it's been so cold lately and my skin tends to get very dry so I love using this as it moisturises my skin & makes it look healthy again!

Body Shop Body Butter- Passion Fruit

So there you have it.:D My recent top 5 fave products ! I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you guys want more posts like this or leave any suggestions below!

Lotsa' love
